Due to the pandemic, this Ministry is meeting via Zoom on the second Sunday of each month at 11:30 am via Zoom.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry consists of a small group of people who knit and crochet to make prayer shawls for others. We lovingly create them for those who are going through difficult times or celebrating a joy. It is our way of sharing God’s love.
Besides prayer shawls, we also make baby blankets, scarves, and other smaller items. Right now we are focusing on making scarves for the SHARE basket. As we knit and crochet we help each other, share stories, and laugh and pray together.
We meet the second Sunday of each month in the library. We welcome new members and will help you get started! We Teach! You may drop in anytime between 11 am and 1 pm. Feel free to bring your lunch, along with suggestions of people who could use some extra love. If you have any questions, you may contact Denise Pullen at 925-330-0807.
Until the WCUMC Prayer Shawl Ministry group is able to meet once again in person so we can take pictures, this image is from another United Methodist Prayer Shawl ministry group in Texas.
It provides us with a connection to know that United Methodist Women continue to reach out to those who need comfort no matter where they are.
